Christmas – it is that time of the year again when magic is in the air. When we reflect upon our innermost reserves of goodness and bring them for the whole world to see; when the world itself becomes a better place as people don on their happiness suits, often forgotten in the busy everyday life.
It was around that time when we decided to meet up with a few dearest friends. Oh, what a blessing it is that they picked Edith’s House in Crouch End! I was pretty excited to see them, because they are very good friends, and I was even more excited to visit a place as unique as Edith’s House.
The cafe is designed with marvelous décor of a previous era, one that instantly reminded me of grandma. The moment you enter, you are welcomed in a comfortable, warm, happy home. Home it really is! There is a loft, a bedroom, a dining room, all sort of areas you’d expect in the average house, except here every nook and cranny is brilliantly designed to accommodate places to sit.
This masterpiece is the effort of Eaton James, who decided to devote his attention to something less demanding than acting, but still as entertaining. He combined his passion of baking and coffee and thus created Edith’s House, named so after his Nana.
This home away from home offers culinary delights in all shapes and sizes – you can choose the ingredients of a breakfast! I tried a French toast with pecans, pear and goat cheese. Mmmh! What a tasteful delight that was!
The service is outstanding! The guys at the café are very polite and did their job to a high professional level. They made sure that all of the visitors had everything and really contributed to us having a great time! How can I forget – the resident French bulldog Roux, who was wagging his tail at all times and was overall a friendly little pup that loved to be pet.
Since I am a fan of cleaning, I couldn’t help but notice just how clean everything was! Even with a resident pet, the place was sparkling clean and well kept. I thought that there must be some serious cleaning going on for that place to look immaculate. Commendable!
I recommend Edith’s House with all my heart! It is a lovely little escape, which I feel blessed for visiting with such good company. I will be sure to return again.
