I have always admired the Canary Wharf area of London. It is such a state of the art office district really, and it is amazing what transformation it has gone through over the last ten years or so. From an abandoned dock site to one of the world’s leading business districts – I think it is nothing short of amazing!
Possibly the most impressive feature of the district is its tall office buildings. Most of them look stunning and house the back offices of major international companies. I had the honour of visiting 25 Canada Square on one of my business meetings and I wish to share my opinion on the building.
It is located at the very heart of the business district and is currently ranked as one of Europe’s tallest buildings. I would also suggest it is one of Europe’s classiest buildings, judging from the modern interior and contemporary design. It has the facilities to accommodate both small firms and large corporations.
As part of my business here, I also went on a business lunch. I have always believed that office buildings offer rather boring food options, but it turned out I was dead wrong in this case. I didn’t have high expectations, but let me tell you – the business lunch I had here was probably one of the best ones in my entire life! The quality of food was incredible and I can tell you this: I wish I worked here so I can have that every day!
Every part I had access to on my visit was spotless, as it should be. I didn’t expect to see a problem in that regard and I sure am glad that turned out to be true in the end. I think being in such a clean and refreshed place really contributed to my overall great experience here.
Now, as much as the place was clean, I couldn’t help but notice that the carpet could use some steam cleaning. I think every heavy-footfall area like this one must have the carpets steam cleaned every 6 months at the very least. That is the only way to ensure thorough sanitation, as dirt tends to get stuck within the fibres. I am sure they are regular at vacuuming, but vacuuming alone doesn’t cut it.
With that little recommendation, I sure leave the building with a lasting impression. Hopefully I will someday come back here to visit this amazing office building again. Maybe one day I can have my own office here, who knows!
