When you visit a good place, you feel lucky and when you visit a great place, you feel blessed. Especially when you are busy with work arrangements and suddenly you realise you are hungry and in need of a nice place to grab a delicious meal.
We were in Knightsbridge and decided to visit Bar Boulud London for lunch. The restaurant is located in the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London. The French bistro menu is absolutely exquisite. I am really glad we picked this restaurant. The whole experience was flawless in almost every aspect.
Highly professional and lovely hostesses greeted us straight from the door. It is worth noting that they wore impeccable uniforms, which made them even more professional. That attitude of the staff, along with the stylish, warm and well-designed environment of the restaurant really contributed to the overall pleasant experience.
The meals we had were amazing. The starter was delicious and we also received soft warm bread as compliments from the staff. The main course was fish and a radish salad, which contributed to the overall nice lunch.
I have to congratulate the waiters on a job well done, as each of them was well-informed and provided useful information about the menu. It is also worth nothing that they cleaned each and every table several times during lunch, even the seats!
The main attraction was the dessert, which I can only describe as magical. First we tried the Tiramisu ice cream, which also featured melted chocolate. Then we also tried the strawberry cheesecake, which was nicely served.
Over the course of our visit, I observed the waiters very closely. What I noticed was that they had impeccable training and great routines in place. For example, every time a client left, they would wipe the table and chairs, leaving the table perfectly clean. I think it is such things that other bars and restaurants should adopt, as they are indicative of professional attitude and superb customer service. What is more, I think this approach goes to show that the client comes first and that the management team recognises the factors that make for a great place. Surely, great food is one of features, but I also think that having a clean place with superb hygiene is also important.
One of the waiters guided me all the way to the toilet, which my theory of cleanliness-focused policy was proven. I must say that this part of the restaurant was sparkling clean. The floors were superbly cleaned and the room was equipped with modern features, such as a sensor-activated tap.
To summarise it all: it has been a great pleasure to visit this restaurant in Knightsbridge. I definitely recommend it!
