New Year’s celebrations in London are quite memorable for the glamorous festivities taking place, undoubtedly. I don’t even want to start explaining all the wonders of the season – the fireworks, the cheering crowds and the spirit of the holiday.
One thing I will always remember is last year’s visit to Central London for the New Year’s celebration and witnessing something unusual. I was in Holborn, just next to the station, when all of a sudden great many homeless people started to appear. Obviously, I didn’t know what was going on, but to my amazement, few Pret a Manger vans parked nearby and all the homeless rushed to queue for food. That is when I learnt of the charity work of Pret a Manger for the first time – instead of throwing food away, they gave it to those in need.
Ever since, I have been an absolute fan of the fast food franchise. I know that saying the dreaded words ‘fast food’ cause some people to cringe, but believe me – Pret a Manger offers a wide range of healthy options for everyone. Their menu features great options for vegans and vegetarians, and I assure you: they can satisfy everyone!
I myself am a fan of their croissant with bacon, cheese and tomato, as well as most of the soups they offer. And the salads … mmm! Always fresh and delicious! I always say to myself that they cannot get better and then they always prove me wrong! It is not just me, but everyone loves them for that – their food is just that good!
Often times I visit Pret a Manger when I am off on a meeting and need something to eat in the meantime. Well, on one of these visits, I noticed something rather unpleasant. I am talking about a rather neglected restroom in one of the restaurants. Not only was there a toilet out of order, but the whole restroom area seemed so neglected. I think it was a flaw strictly limited to that day alone, as I had never seen such an issue with the place before.
It is my genuine belief that such restaurants, with numerous people visiting there on a daily base, should have a resident cleaner working there full time. I mean obviously they can afford to pay that, as I can only imagine the gains. I view it as an investment, which will pay off with happier customers and more of them really – I surely wasn’t the only person feeling bad about the restrooms on that day!
Please, don’t allow such negligence, even if it was just this day. The place has acquired quite a reputation to see it ruined.
